I guess I can see how Keatinge felt like he wanted to do a tribute to Image Comics, but once again, it felt like a shortcut away from the entire plot of Shutter and everything in this book that we, the reader, doesn’t know. Still. After 25 issues, even when our main character Kate is now completely in the know.

So Kate hung out with Spawn, Witchblade, and the other “classic” Image characters whose names I don’t know.

The last page with Christopher Jr and Cassius surrounded by all the dead bodies in Prospero, that’s the story I wanted to read. Not all this other nonsense.

It still doesn’t make sense why everyone’s forgiven Christopher Sr.

So we’re trying to destroy the universe seed? Or release the universe seed? Or something? The only thing I feel better about in this entire plot is that I can see how Prospero must artificially prop up life in this world due to the enormous biodiversity of sentient beings.

Cassius remains the very best character ever.

Christopher Sr. remains the very worst character. I do not know why anyone trusts him. He always saves his own skin.

Christopher Jr. has the biggest heart. There’s no doubt that he’s probably the only one who really wants to stop the killing. And it seems right that he’d protect Kate, given how much she’s tried to project him. I do love how Del Duca has made him grow over the years.

Not surprising that Cassius finds a room of human-shaped blobs. Reminds me of Cassandra at the end of the universe in Doctor Who.

The fact that Christopher Sr. just up and disappeared, and no one thought to hunt him down rings as highly suspect. He’s always highly suspect. Through this entire story, Christopher is shady, and his children keep forgetting that. I find it hard to believe that all of them are just over what he did to them.

Oh, Cassius, what did Keatinge do to you? He made you out of blobby human flesh. Or maybe because we’re in Prospero, it’s just an image of what he might look like. Just when I was finally used to him not having a face.

Kate is kind of the worst for continuing to call him Alarm Cat. Seriously, she can adapt to so much, but she can’t use Cassius’ proper name.

Issue 27 and we still don’t know what we’re kicking ass for. But, dammit, we’re kicking some ass!
