I have an affinity for solo character comics series, and no solo series is complete without a good cast of supporting characters. In Marc Andreyko’s Manhunter, Damon Matthews serves as title character Kate Spencer’s co-counsel and fellow DA.
Damon Matthews

Damon has no superpowers of his own and does not engage in fighting crime, except through his work as a lawyer. However, he quickly pieces together that Kate has become Manhunter and he covers for her on many occasions.
Damon’s perhaps one of the most well-adjusted characters in comic books. He’s practical, down-to-earth, and out to everyone around him. He’s dating Todd Rice, the superhero Obsidian. And like he did with Kate, he quickly finds out about Todd being a superhero.

Todd and Damon
Manhunter #38 was not only the last issue of the series, but Damon’s last issue. #38 takes place in the future, where both Damon and Todd are still together and seen at Kate’s son college graduation party.
Time to stop asking where all the women reading comics because here's one, right in front of you. Reviews and general comic book squeeing by Erica McGillivray (and a few others). I love She-Hulk, tiny baby polar bears, and a good book.
